well day one of the zone diet is over. having never in my life really weighed out my food or taken on portion control with such exacting standards...it's actually kind of fun! there is something innately satisfying about putting such thought and energy into the food you eat. i started this morning with an engineered meal, a mix of protein powders and soy milk to hit my 4 blocks 36/28/12. played an entire 90 minute soccer game (short on subs) and felt great. then went for a can of tuna, with feta and oat milk. my daily snacks were apples and peanut butter with more protein powder, dinner was a chicken breast, grilled with olive oil, onions, green chiles and part of a beer. coach says that the human body is "macro-nutrient agnostic". yes there better choices than protein powders, but for me at least initially, it makes things fast an easy for some meals/snacks
