Let’s face it. Hindsight is definitely 20/20. Foresight? Not so much! Most human beings could likely write a novel featuring all of the things that they did in life only to later wish that they did NOT.
We are going to avoid reminiscing about any of these transgressions that occurred before the onset of puberty, were previously addressed by your parents, that involve nudity and the ones that resulted in a visit to the hospital.
So what does that leave us in terms of the things that OMG, I wish I had not…done
*Devoured that 2nd piece of chocolate cake
**Had that last shot of tequila
***Stayed up until 3:30am
***Or possibly all 3 in the same night (you first world thrill-seeker)
So what do these “wish I had not” things have in common? They are generally easy to get started on and/or continue doing? They often make us feel good initially. Then, at some point, that reverses and they make us feel worse then when we started.
Have you ever finished up a workout, thought to yourself “gee that was a bad idea”, regretted doing it and felt worse than when you started? Likely the answer is a resounding NO! (admittedly there is some recovery time involved with intense workouts and with Crossfit workouts in general.) Is it tough sometimes to get started with your workout? Ab-Sol-Utely! But here is the magic…YOU will always be glad to did it and feel amazing afterwards. So saddle up cowboy. Get on the fucking horse…3-2-1…GO!!!
